Graduated from the National School of Fine Arts in Angers and obtained the National Diploma in Plastic Arts (1994).

Born in 1953, Antoine Culcasi first developed an artistic production mainly devoted to volumes

in bronze around portraits from life, the expression of the human body and animal themes.

A master foundryman, he then created a lost-wax bronze foundry business - a family heirloom - which allowed him to cast his own works and those of other artists.

He devotes himself entirely to his artistic production. After initially abandoning painting because it was "too destructive for him", he returned to pictorial production.

Mystical and spiritual questioning about life:

His work is authentic and uncompromising. It makes sense with his perception of contemporary political life.

He responded to an order for 25 works around "The Stoning of Saint Emérance" for Art et Chapelles. A work that evokes violence against women, a recurring subject:

He plays with the icons of art history through religion work on the pietà, where he inverts religious representations such as a female Christ.

His commitment as an artist leads Antoine Culcasi towards societal subjects such as migration with "Dérives" a work inspired by the work of Géricault "the raft of the Medusa" a monumental work of 7 meters wide by 5 meters high, violence against women and animal suffering, recurring themes in his journey as an angry artist that resonate in his latest works:

He deepens his social and political reflection, questions his condition as an artist in relation to the world in a work illustrated by the exhibition "Zoones", which deals with the propensity of man and animal to appropriate a territory.
