Biographie :

Diplômé de l'Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts d'Angers en 1994.

Antoine Culcasi est né en 1953. 
Il développe d'abord une production artistique essentiellement consacrée aux volumes en bronze autour du portraits d'après nature, de l'expression du corps humain et de thèmes animaliers :
 -Exposition "Animalité, corps, esprit" (2010) : 


Maître fondeur, il crée alors une entreprise de fonderie de bronze à la cire perdue . Un  héritage familial  qui lui permet de fondre ses propres œuvres et celles d'autres artistes.

Il se consacre exclusivement à sa production artistique depuis 2010. 

Après avoir abandonné dans un premier temps la peinture jugée « trop destructrice  » pour lui,
il revient à la production picturale suite à un parcours sur le chemin de Compostelle.

      Un travail qui parle de la religion comme vecteur de manipulation avec ses dérives autoritaires.

Son travail est authentique et sans compromission et  fait sens avec sa perception de la vie politique contemporaine.

- 2019- Il répond à une commande de 25 œuvres peintes et sculptées sur le sujet imposé de la lapidation de sainte Emerance pour Art et Chapelles : "La Lapidation de Sainte Emérance" : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RfSOsTuwfI

 Un travail qui évoque les violences faites aux femmes, un sujet récurrent...  :


Un travail sur la gémellité, notamment sur son jumeau  Antonin   décédé.

Il joue avec les icônes de l'histoire de l'art à travers un travail religieux sur la pietà, où il inverse les représentations religieuses comme un Christ féminin.

Son engagement en tant qu'artiste conduit Antoine Culcasi vers des sujets sociétaux comme la migration avec "Dérives" une œuvre inspirée de l'œuvre de Géricault "le radeau de la Méduse" une œuvre monumentale de 7 mètres de large sur 5 mètres de haut :

Les violences faites aux femmes, aux animaux. la souffrance, thèmes récurrents dans son parcours d'artiste en colère qui résonnent dans ses dernières œuvres :

Antoine Culcasi was born in 1953. He first developed an artistic production essentially devoted to bronze volumes around portraits from nature, the expression of the human body and animal themes:

A family heritage which allows him to blend his own works and those of other artists. He has devoted himself exclusively to his artistic production since 2010. After initially abandoning painting deemed "too destructive" for him, he returned to pictorial production following a journey on the way to Compostela.
